AI usage policy

General Provisions

The editorial board of the scientific and practical legal journal *Almanac of Law* recognises that artificial intelligence (AI) and the tools that utilise it can be useful aids in the process of preparing academic publications. However, the use of artificial intelligence tools must be carried out with transparency and in compliance with international standards of publication ethics in accordance with EASE (the European Association of Scientific Editors).

Use of AI by authors

Permissible areas of AI application

Authors may use generative AI only as an auxiliary tool, for example:

— to improve grammar, style or translation;

— for technical assistance in manuscript preparation (spelling checks, formatting).

Prohibited uses of AI

  • automatic generation of references or bibliographies, which may result in fictitious or incorrect sources;
  • do not use AI outputs as primary sources, as citations may be inaccurate;
  • the use of AI tools to formulate research conclusions is not permitted.

Use of AI by editors and reviewers

Editors and reviewers may use AI for technical support — for example:

  • for language checking;
  • for style checking;
  • assistance in generating metadata and abstracts.

Editors must ensure that reviewers carry out their work properly.
