Licensing terms for the use of copyrighted material

‘Almanac of Law’ is an open-access journal, which means that all its content is available free of charge to all readers and institutions.

No open access fees are charged.

Access rights

All articles published in open access are permanently and freely available to read, download, copy and distribute.

User rights

Permitted reuse of materials by third parties is governed by the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence, which allows users to copy, create extracts, summaries and new works from the article, modify and adapt the article, and make commercial use of the article (including the reuse and/or resale of the article by commercial entities) provided that the user provides appropriate attribution (with a link to the official publication via the relevant DOI), provides a link to the licence, indicates if changes have been made, and the licensor is not presented as endorsing the use of the work.

Authors’ Rights

The Almanac of Law supports the principles of Open Access to research results and allows authors to self-archive their scholarly works in accordance with the following policy.

1. Preprint

Authors may deposit a preprint version of their manuscript (the version prior to peer review and editorial processing) in any repository, provided that it includes a reference to the publisher and the journal:
"This is a preprint of a manuscript submitted for publication in the journal Almanac of Law, published by the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine."
After publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record by adding the full bibliographic citation of the published version and a link to the official journal website.

2. Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM, Postprint)

Authors may deposit the Author’s Accepted Manuscript (the version that has successfully passed peer review and incorporates all revisions required for publication, but has not yet undergone copy-editing, typesetting, or publisher formatting) in institutional, subject-specific, or other open-access repositories without any embargo period.
When depositing the Author’s Accepted Manuscript, authors should provide:
– the title of the journal;
– the publication details (once available);
– the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where applicable;
– a link to the official published version of the article on the journal website.

3. Version of Record

Authors may deposit the published Version of Record on personal websites, in open repositories, and in the information systems of academic and research institutions, provided that the full bibliographic citation and a link to the official journal website are included.
Authors retain copyright and all rights related to the scholarly use of their works, while the journal Almanac of Law receives the right to publish and distribute the articles.

Full-text access to all published articles is available in the Archive section of the journal website. This policy complies with the principles of Open Access as defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
