Requirements for the formatting of articles in the scientific and practical legal journal “Almanac of Law”

General requirements for the structure of academic articles:

1. The structure of submitted articles must include the following mandatory components:

UDC;

— Full name, academic degree, academic title (if applicable), position, ORCID, DOI (if available);

— a general formulation of the problem and its connection to important scientific or practical tasks;

— an analysis of recent studies and publications that have initiated the resolution of this problem and on which the author relies, highlighting previously unresolved aspects of the general problem to which the submitted article is devoted;

— the aim of the article;

—research methodology;

— presentation of the main research material with justification of the scientific results obtained;

— conclusions and prospects for further research in this field;

— list of references;

References (list of references in Roman script). For automatic transliteration of the sources used, free online resources can be utilized: http://ukrlit.org/transliteratsiia (transliteration of sources from the Ukrainian language).

2. Following the References section, the following should be provided: an abstract in the language of the article (1,000–1,500 characters) and in English (2,500–3,000 characters), and keywords (up to 10 words or phrases).

3. The total length of the publication (article title, author details, article text, list of sources used, references, abstract, keywords) must not exceed 12 pages (Times New Roman; font size 14; 1.5 line spacing).

4. References to sources used are indicated in square brackets, stating the source number in the order of use within the text of the article, and the specific pages, e.g. [1, pp. 20–22], and the list of sources is provided at the end of the article.

5. Bibliographic references in the list of sources used must be formatted in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015. The length of the article must not exceed 10 pages (font: Times New Roman; font size: 14; line spacing: 1.5).

Requirements for submission of materials:

a printed copy of the research article (signed by the author at the end);

an electronic version of the article;

a biographical note on the author(s) stating: surname, first name, patronymic, academic degree, academic title, honorary title, place of work and position, contact telephone number (mobile, work), email address and postal address with postcode;

a completed and signed Licence agreement;

if the author does not hold an academic degree, a review by a candidate of sciences or doctor of sciences in the relevant speciality and an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the relevant department (division) recommending the article for publication must also be submitted. Materials (articles and author biographies) may also be submitted by email (confer-almanach@ukr.net).

File names must include the author’s surname (for example: Ivanov article — doc; Ivanov author’s note — doc).

For the convenience of authors, we recommend referring to previously published articles in the scientific and practical legal journal ‘Almanac of Law’ as a formatting guide.

The editorial board reserves the right to review, edit, abridge and reject articles. The requirements set out for articles must be strictly adhered to; otherwise, the article will be rejected.
