To the issue of the state control over the observance of information legislation: the concept, certain types and forms

The article considers some aspects of the influence of the state-territorial system form on the implementation of the state’s own functions.

There is an attempt to confirm the fundamental nature of certain ideas of modern unitarism as a constitutional and legal institution, to identify productive directions for deepening its doctrinal principles.

It points to the actualization of the outlined issues for Ukraine in the light of long-term political and scientific discourse on the most effective form of state organization for the state — unitary or federal.

The author adheres to the position substantiated by leading experts, according to which for our state the unitary state system is more natural, historically conditioned, formed.

Given the globalization of information processes, military aggression, when there is a high measure of vulnerability of ourstate from negative, in particular, information influences, threats, the information activity of the Ukrainian state, its information function becomes especially important.

Emphasis is placed on the manifestations of unitarism in the implementation of the information function of the state.

The implementation of the researched function mediates the solution of many problems related to the territorial, spatial organization of public power, with its administrative-territorial organization. It is closely intertwined with all other important state activity areas, ensures the progressive development of a single information space within its territorial boundaries.

Since for the domestic legal science the theory of the information function of the state is still at the stage of its formation, its main defining features are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the «spatial dimension» of the information function implementation.
